Accessibility

Neighborhood

Lovely quiet neighborhood tucked back from the main roads. There is a mixture of full-time, part-time and vacation homes in the area.

Guest Access

The entire home is available for your enjoyment including a fenced in back yard with garden. Help yourself to the raspberries and blueberries when ripe! There is a small shed out back that will be locked.

Good to know

Welcome to the Winthrop Basecamp! This is a new home built in 2020 and features open dining/kitchen/living space with vaulted ceilings. It is centrally located and family friendly with a fenced backyard and patio. There is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, jetted tub, tiled shower and laundry station. The other bedroom features a queen bed, bunk bed with a full bathroom right outside the door. A barn style door can close this bedroom and bathroom off from the main living area making it feel like a second master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. We have a small booster/high chair that can be secured to one of the dining chairs as well as a few books and toys for our younger guests. The patio space features string lights, a sturdy picnic table and outdoor lounge furniture as well as a propane BBQ.

Other Details to Note

Step right out the front door to walk, bike, and even nordic ski (in the winter!) to town. The new Methow Trails space sits on the bluff behind the home and is easily accessed for walking and skiing trails depending on the time of year that you visit. The new library is a 5 minute walk, and 8 minutes to the Winthrop Rink where you can find many year round activities to sprinkle into you vacation—if you've still got energy after exploring the mountains and lakes nearby. Prior to your arrival we will send you a link to our online guest guidebook so you can better plan your trip. It can be downloaded for offline use which is recommended as cell phone and internet service can be spotty in our rugged little mountain town (but that's partly why many of us love the area--it's a chance to disconnect and unwind!).

Alison’s place was such a delight, especially her surprise herb and fruit garden with a hummingbird and osprey. King bed was enormous, excellent shower and every small detail thought about.

We were in town for a music festival, which was just a short distance from the Airbnb. Our stay was nice and relaxing. The surrounding are peaceful. We got to enjoy some delicious raspberries and blueberries in the yard. Alison was a friendly and accommodating host.

This was our second stay - it was great the first time and better than I remembered when we returned. We had two couples in our group and appreciated that the second bedroom and main bathroom can be closed off with a door, creating a second en suite. The yard and patio are so peaceful and gorgeous and I really appreciated that Allison informed me that she was adding a EV charger - I was able to charge up while we were there, which was so incredibly helpful. WiFi was down but Allison stayed in touch with us about it and it wasn’t a problem for us on a holiday weekend. Beds were super comfy, place was incredibly clean, access to the trail is great — we would return in a heartbeat!

First time visitors to the North Cascades and absolutely loved this place. The home was cozy and comfortable and clean and had every amenity you could think of. Very well organized. Walkable to Winthrop where cute stores and nice eateries can be found. Did some incredible hiking during our stay and definitely looking forward to returning.

The Winthrop Basecamp is in a great spot. It’s right on the trail, while maintaining privacy and peacefulness. Walk one way to the grocery store in 10 minutes… or the other way to Winthrop center in 15 minutes. The space is super comfortable and clean, with all we needed. I particularly enjoyed sitting on the patio reading my book taking in the mountain views. Alison is super responsive and was really gracious to accommodate our last minute late checkout request. Thanks 🙏 Next time we come to Winthrop we’ll definitely check for availability here.

Our family of 4 returned to the Methow valley after many years away and we instantly knew we had missed this beautiful place! We can easily see ourselves returning at any time of year. This home is nestled in a beautiful area so easily accessed and also so walking and biking friendly too! So many outdoor activities are at your doorstep! Nature for all ages is highly accommodated in this home. Alison has a garden scape yard and grassy lawn with outdoor dining and lounging area that invites hours spent outside! We'll be back!

Clean and airy space. AC worked perfectly. Kitchen had everything needed for a long stay. Biking or walking track into Winthrop 10 -15 by foot. Walk the track in the opposite direction and your at the Thriftway on the road to Twisp. I would be happy to stay longer next time.

Our family had an incredible weekend at Alison's gorgeous home. Her home is beautifully decorated, has gorgeous views and is right on the community trail that leads right into downtown Winthrop. Our family of 5 was perfectly comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. We hope to be back to your lovely place soon!!

The house was great. We loved the fenced yard with beautiful views. It was so wonderful to be able to take the stroller and easily walk the trail to town with our 2 year old. We did this twice daily during our stay because it was so pleasant.
